Five things that make the Ethicurean an awesome venue for an intimate wedding

My wife and I celebrated at last anniversary at an awesome restaurant within a walled garden called the Ethicurean. You have to check this place out, it’s gorgeous. It also accommodates weddings too, making it a perfect venue for an intimate wedding.

I’d heard a lot about the Ethicurean and both my wife Lizzie and I were itching to go there so we didn’t particularly need an excuse to book a table but our fourth wedding anniversary seemed like an appropriate occasion. The fourth anniversary is represented by flowers so other than giving Mrs T-shor-now a bunch of roses, a trip to a walled garden couldn’t have been more fitting.

The place lived up to expectations, the food was amazing, the setting was stunning and the staff were friendly. While we were being served one of the staff explained that there was a wedding taking place at the venue later that day. Hiring out the venue the bride and groom had managed to get themselves a perfect little hideaway for a small number of guests in a setting that feels incredibly private.

Five things that make the Ethicurean an awesome venue for an intimate wedding

  1. Location – with natural bursting out of the grounds and the surrounding hills, you’ll feel like you’ve found a truly personal venue. The peaceful location feels miles away from everything and unlike some other venues, you won’t feel like you’re on a wedding conveyor belt ushered in as one bride leaves and rushed out before the next bride enters.
  2. Food – the food beats the socks off most of it’s rivals in the area. The menu is strong, avoiding the temptation to go for Hollywood style dishes that are all style over substance the Ethicurean manages to offer a balance of both.
  3. Staff – at any wedding venue restaurant, hotel or whatever, the staff are crucial and these lovely peeps are so friendly.
  4. Style – much like its menu, the Ethicurean isn’t annoyingly hip, it’s got a subtle sense of style that makes the décor and overall feel so tasteful.
  5. Flowers – you obviously can’t move for seeing some floral treats within the grounds of this beautifully maintained walled garden but I think the guys at the Ethicurean will also style the venue from bunches picked from their own   gardens.

We enjoyed The Ethicurean so much that I forgot that I’m a photographer and didn’t get round to taking many pictures but I did take a few. Have a look at the photographs below but go and check this place out for real.
